Very beautiful place. Special design. We enjoyed much the the beautiful Onsen. It feels like you are in a bath in the middle of a rise field.

Amazing experience for anyone interested in architecture, design, and local culture

The most beautiful hotel I've ever stayed in. The breakfast was delicious and featured a lot of local vegetables. The curated library was out of this world. 100% recommend this hotel to anyone and would love to stay again.

I only wish we stayed longer.

Very Good

View was significant! The air was wonderful and the bookworm vibe in the hotel is fabulous. The breakfast area was an open area for guests to enjoy the view clearly, but the heat in summer….

Except the hotel’s dining area, there’s nothing to shop for food nearby. It’s not a good choice to walk around during night time. Onsen was a small one. The view was nice, but hotel didn’t supply facial care products (unlike the decent onsen hotel) so be aware of this.

Very nice hotel although pricy

I enjoyed the unique architecture of the hotel and its location in the middle of farmland, although it location limited access to the train station and outside places to eat.

When we got there, we asked about having dinner at the hotel, but they didn’t have any sittings left. Fortunately, there was a great tonkatsu restaurant within 15 minutes’ walk.

Stylish and comfortable stay in Tsuruoka

I loved the simple architecture of the hotel. It was fitting in smoothly into the landscape. The room was spacious and it was very comfortable to spend time there. The breakfast was very delicious. I highly recommend this place.

great place. Delicious and varied breakfast. Excellent staff. Just save dinner there

The place is overall amazingly and uniquely designed. The rooms are large and of excellent quality, which is fun to be in, but: 1. The sauna and baths are a bit too small 2. Restaurant: It seems like an attempt to squeeze money out of the guests. I have no other word Bottom line - great place. Delicious and varied breakfast. Excellent staff. Just save dinner there

The cost for dinner is very high and it feels like you are getting the minimum possible so that the price justifies itself. There is a free buffet during the meal with bread and 4 side dishes - very generic and just everything from a can.. Raw materials are cheap compared to the high price The dishes look very simple and I believe this is to justify the Nordic design

Beautiful hotel in the middle of rice fields, in a very peaceful area. Nicely located to visit Dewasanzan and the magnificent countryside around. Very welcoming and professional staff. The bedroom was spacious, quiet and very nice. Beautiful and very relaxing outside baths... and a very good restaurant. A very good choice indeed to explore this area of Japan.

Maybe a bit more western food at breakfast (just toasts and marmelade would be a plus..)
